DOLCHEN LARP

We are five friends and larpers who’ve established Dolchen Larps, in order to run our first LARP together. Our vision is making a low fantasy larp, in which emotional immersion and tough choices are the primary focus, and where the plot aids to facilitate the interaction and development of relations between characters. Our overall priorities when organizing is inclusivity, cohesion, and an overall structure that is solid enough to carry the LARP, but flexible enough to adapt to unforeseen developments. We aim to create a safe space both in and offgame, to accommodate the harsher themes of the game.

  • AD

    She/Her

In short: I have a degree in childcare, where I have experience establishing inclusive communities. I’m a problem solver, think on my feet and like to juggle more than one task at a time. I like to create stories, immersion and am hugely and widely creative, both in props and storytelling.

Strengths: Turning problems into opportunities, has a wide range of LARP experiences to draw knowledge and learn from.

My priorities in LARP: The narrative, location and mood lining up. Likes to have a meaningful function in LARP, with little to no idle time.

Function during the game: Bunker Octopus

Fun fact: Can’t be allowed near the shooting ranges at amusement parks. Something happens once she holds one of those air rifles. It’s both awe inspiring and terrifying, and it never ends. But we did win a panda.

  • Alberte

    Any

In short: I have a degree in childcare and am currently taking a Masters in pedagogical psychology. I have experience in theater, creating environments for play and facilitating inclusion. I’m empathetic, caring and still feel noob enough that no question you can ask, will be dumb. I probably don’t know either.

Strengths: Due to my education I have knowledge in regards to creating safe spaces emotionally, and have an easy time relating to people's emotions.

My priorities in LARP: Emotional safety, inclusion, relations.

Function during the game: Emotional safety person, assisting plot coordinator

Fun fact: Does a wicked Sweaty Monk Dance. Please ask to see it. Be prepared for the intense eye contact.

  • Cille

    She/her

In short: I am in the middle of a bachelor in psychology, in which my main interests so far are group dynamics and roles in social settings. I like lists, structures, color coordination and the like, thus I am the structural backbone of the organizer group. I’m the super realist make-the-plan-run-smoothly-person, keep us on track towards the greater vision, and am one of the primary location designers for the LARP.

Strengths: Organization, structure, following up on getting things done.

My priorities in LARP: World-building, character relations,

Function during the game: The one with all the lists. Overall Squidmaster of Doom

Fun fact: No matter time or place, mood or state of the world, Under The Sea will always make me dance and sing along. It cannot be stopped. Which is kinda funny, considering my raging thalassophobia.

  • Emil

    He/Him

In short: I am an IT consultant, and have experience managing large crowds, from working with and helping run conventions. I aim to help make the best experience for everyone involved, and am the one who will go to great lengths to make that happen. I’m practically inclined, and will be doing anything from creating content up to the LARP, to fetching the 3 pounds of lettuce we need last minute during. I’m basically an extremely useful runner, gofer, practical pig, or however you want it to be phrased. I’m also the kindest person you’ll ever meet (This is written by the other organizers, as I’m also the most humble person you’ll ever meet. And would NEVER.)

Strengths: Fixing things. Driving places. Gettings things done. Hugs. Checking in with people.

My priorities in LARP: Being challenged, social relations both in and offgame.

Function during the game: NPC-coordinator, runner, the one to fix the computer by turning it off and on again.

Fun fact: Is by far the most willing to travel to wherever for LARP. And is way, way, way… No, WAY too fond of memes. Also kinda sounds like an asthmatic crocodile when laughing. But it’s cute.

  • Mathilde

    They/them

In short: Studied game design, and works in IT. I have experience and an interest in rule design, and believe rules and mechanics can facilitate great immersive and social play. Interested in creating a cohesive world and plot, where things make sense in relation to each other. Am also the primary digital visual designer for the LARP.

Strengths: Questioning and saying no when it’s needed, to limit unnecessary tangents. Translating an idea into meaningful and functional play.

My priorities in LARP: Cohesiveness, relations, meaningful choices both in design and narrative.

Function during the game: Plot coordinator, all things to do with rules.

Fun fact: Has exceptional knowledge of eels. Will be disappointed if you reject hearing one.
